I didn’t think there’d be a way to top hearing so many Cooley classics (Where The Devil Won’t Stay, Cartoon Gold, A Ghost To Most) for the first time at the Drive By Truckers set at the Basilica Block Party, but last night I learned that there’s nothing like hearing “Let There Be Rock” on a hot summer night, especially when the song’s dedicated to the Big Man, especially when the sun’s just set and you’re in the very front row and when you look back at the crowd all you can see is the Basilica of St. Mary all lit up,  and especially when that refrain from “Marry Me” is still ringing in your ears: “well this old town’s alright with me, there’s nowhere I’d rather be.”
