On Saturday night Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit proved once again they’re the greatest band still touring bars in the country, covering Candi Staton, The Meters, The Talking Heads, and Neil Young.  The five new songs from “Here We Rest” that were played all sounded fantastic and were received remarkably well.  That being said, of the 13 song setlist (a bit short no?), Isbell played a total of one song from his first two records combined.  As great as it always is singing along to the old Drive By Truckers classics, next time around I’d like to see Isbell have some more faith in his solo material; we all want to hear more of it.
