So this sort of blew my mind: John Mccauley of Deer Tick, clearly knowing he was in Replacements territory, started mumbling on stage last week at the Middle Brother show at First Avenue in Minneapolis: “You guys know that song Thirteen by Big Star? I’ve always thought (Paul) Westerberg wrote Skyway as a response to Chilton’s Thirteen. Always saw it as a follow up to that song. So anyway, I wrote this next song as a response to those two songs. You could call it the third installment in the “Thirteen Series.””
Mccauley then played Daydreaming,the opening track of the Middle Brother record, which everyone needs to go out and buy right now.
