In honor of tonight’s Neil Young tribute concert at Carnegie Hall, here’s a clip from Minneapolis’ very own Soul Asylum singing what might be my all-time favorite NY tune.  I haven’t heard or seen Neil himself do many renditions of Barstool Blues, probably because he refuses to play anything from Zuma besides “Cortez The Killer.”  He did, however, play the song out of nowhere in a somewhat off-key but charming performance just a few years ago, in New Foundland.
